October: Fruit Papaya & Benefits

The papaya, papaw, or pawpaw is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya, the sole species int the genus Carica of the plant family Caricaceae. It is a native to the topics of the Americas, perhaps from Southern Mexico and neighboring Central America.

Papaya fruit is an excellent source of dietary fiber, folate, vitamin A, C and E. It also contains small amount of calcium, iron, riboflavin, thiamine and niacine. It is also very rich in antioxidant nutrients flavonoids and carotenes, very high in vitamin C plus A, and low in calories and sodium.

Papaya plant. Note for the ripe papaya fruit. Young green fruits developing at the crown, a tea made of  boiled green papaya fruit helps reduce high blood pressure rapidly.

Paw paw is rich is enzymes called papain and chymopapain which helps with the digestion, particularly it breaks down the proteins from the food we eat into amino acids. The latest research shows that amino acids are responsible for all what is happening in our organism, basically for what is happening in every chemical reaction as well as our mental and physical health.

As we age we produce less of the digestive enzymes in our stomach and pancreas, which leads to ineffective digestion of proteins. Due to this we end up with excess amount of undigested protein, which leads to overgrowth of the bad bacteria in our gastrointestinal system and not enough of amino acids to perform all important chemical reactions. We can say that good quality protein is absolutely essential for our healthy being. This is where the papaya enzymes can be beneficial.

While I was visiting in Trinidad a few years ago, I remember my late god mother had a few paw paw trees out in the backyard. And she would encourage me to pick and part take in them. While, indulgent in this nice lovely musky sweet fruit, an episode of "America's next top model was showing at the given time in that particular series, the models stood before a table filled with different fruits for their natural facials which later entailed of the benefits each and everyone had. They had every fruit except " paw paw" so I decided they meant me since I've eaten down the fruit leaving the skin. I decided to take the challenge.

America's Next Top model

So, I rubbed the inside of the fruit all over my face and neck, and left it on for about 15 minutes. When I rinsed if off it, surprisingly it left my skin, silky smooth, well moisturized also with a radiant pregnant glow.. leaving my God mother confused at the beautiful surprise  she then decided to try it out and was so over whelmed with the brilliant results. We both noticed now much the wrinkles in our skin had been massively been reduced.

Vacation in Trinidad :)

Which made me more eager  to research the benefits of this marvelous fruit.

Papaya For A Glowing Skin

Papaya benefits the skin and it is an effective fruit facial. Papaya not only cleanses the skin but it is also known for glowing the skin as it contains papain which promotes skin renewal and cell turnover. Papain in papaya benefits skin by exfoliating it to reveal new cells and soften at the same time. Papain soap and moisturizers are sold in market due to its benefit on the skin. No wonder it has added apart of my natural skin care regimen!

Papaya benefits skin as it is rich in vitamin A, E and C and anti-oxidants which moisturize the skin and clears it from dirt and dark spots. Papaya can be used as facial scrub or face mask to cure acne, tan on the face aging skin etc.

Papaya benefits on the skin are endless. So, use papaya on your face as a fruit mask and see the change in your complexion after a few weeks. As it is a natural skin care remedy, the result will not be immediate but it used properly, the results will be permanent.

Finally, I am getting the chance to watch the full interview of Rihanna's interview with Oprah.

Rihanna's full interview with talk show queen Oprah Winfrey aired last night in the US and portrays the singer in a light never seen before.
The 'We Found Love' songstress invited Oprah to her native country of Barbados to film the candid chat for a new episode of Oprah's Next Chapter, during which she discussed her childhood, her incredible success and her relationship with abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
Chris brutally assaulted Rihanna in 2009 causing the end of their romance, but reports have mounted in recent weeks that they are reconciling. Rihanna says that is not the case and they are "very close friends."
"We built a trust again and that's it. We love each other and we probably always will," Rihanna said through tears.
"We've been working on our friendship again and now we're very close friends. And that's not anything we're going to try to change."
Chris has moved on with new girlfriend Karrueche Tran, and Rihanna says it's difficult to be around each other sometimes because she "still loves him."
"It's awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain it and suppress it."
"When you don't understand those feelings you can make a lot of mistakes."
Wow! Sounds like a very honest interview... watch the full clip below...

Good morning guys!

I did not had the energy to get up, and jog this morning.. I feel like total crap. Sometimes, I don't have the energy to be a power house bouncing off the walls. I hurt, I cry, am not perfect and yes! I accept that fact and embrace my imperfections. I do have cravings and yes I indulgence in some very yummy naughty treats such as pastries and pies. lol That is my main addition.. just like how some people are addicted to alcohol, smoking, sex.. well mine is just pastries and pies and I enjoy them So What!! I am human and glad to be Me.

The below images are a few treats I like to indulgence in:

"bullar" in Swedish.. translate to "Swedish cinnamon buns", growing up in Sweden, my culture is circulated with the atmosphere of baking them around Christmas time. My mother and late sister would make them for us. It's a Swedish tradition to have them for the holidays as in Sweden, Christmas day is celebrated on the 24th December.

"Bular" Swedish cinnamon bun

Blueberry pie

Around the summer time in Sweden my mother used to send my later sister and I to the forest to pick fresh buckets of blueberries. Knowing, how good they tasted, I usually would return with the least berries in my bucket lol..

Jessie j- Stand up

JESSIE J LYRICS

"Stand Up"

If you surround yourself with negative people
You'll never feel settled in or become an equal, no
They'll suppress you of your spirit and rinse you dry of smiles
So reach deep and release your inner child, yeah, yeah

So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up, stand up, for the love, love

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are
And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are
And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last
So stand up

If you let a frown become your normality, yes
You don't set an example for the youth of our humanity
If you spend every day wishing for the next to come
Aged and lifeless is what, yes, you'll become, yeah, yeah

So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up, stand up, for the love, love

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are
And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are

And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last
(So stand up)
I live my life like every day is the last

So ignore the bad and the good will soon come
Don't think second best, be number one
Spread some love, don't give to receive
Strive to be happy and live to believe

So ignore the bad and the good will soon come
Don't think second best, be number one
Spread some love, don't give to receive
Strive to be happy and live to believe

So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up, stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up for the love, love, love
So stand up, stand up, for the love, love

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are
And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are
And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last

'Cause you're as old as you feel you are
And if you don't reach for the moon you can't fall on the stars
So I live my life like every day is the last, last, last

So stand up for the l-l-love, yeah
So stand up for the l-l-love, yeah
So stand up

Stretch marks? Where? .. If you can't beat them, blend them! Pt.2

Stretch marks? Where? .. If you can't beat them, blend them!
Part 2

Normally, methods for removing stretch marks are not very effective. Complete removal of the dark, black stretch marks is "impossible" unless you opt for surgical procedures such as tummy tucks and laser cosmetic treatments. That's what they all said.

About cosmetic treatments

1. Laser treatment is a concentrated beam of light with electromagnetic radiation. They have their intensity levels modulated. High intensity lasers can drill holes inside thick steel. Lasers are typically monochromatic, with red being used for therapy. Fortunately, for laser therapy, the intensity is dialed down to provide people healing properties that lead to pain relief.

THE BELOW PHOTOS ARE NOT ME!!

Before/After
Laser therapy

Cell Reaction
The low level laser therapy works because of how cells react to it. Lasers are fired between 5 and 500 milliwatts;most surgical applications utilize 300 milliwatts of power. When lasers are applied to cells, it is called photobiostimulation.

Photobiostimulation - The light stimulates the cells to liberate energy from chemical bonds there by accelerating the body's natural healing process.

This effect on the tissue is called " photobiostimulation" , meaning a chain of chemical reactions triggered by exposure to light.

Photobiostimulation also initiates some cell fuctions to promote healing. Collagen production, enzyme production and cell growth increase. With the collagen level increases, damaged skin cells becomes less prevalent scar tissue from forming.

About Chemical peel
A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled that the old skin. Thus, the term "chemical peels" is derived.

Before/After
Chemical peel Treatment

Learn (5) types of chemical peels:

Caution: Complications of chemical peels
The deeper the peels the more complications that can arise. Chemical peels are risky and need to be administered by certified dermatologists. The possible complications include prolong erythema, pigmentary changes, milia (white heads) skin atrophy and textual changes.

Regardless, of the wonderful results of cosmetic treatments. I personally knew I wanted to seek a more "natural" approach without the harmful complications that may occur in the future . I believe it is good to do your very own personal research before diving into something you have no idea about. For, those who are willing to try cosmetic treatments, do so at your own risk.
Stay tune for part 3

Stretch marks? Where? If you can't beat them, blend them!

Stretch marks? Where? .. If you can't beat them, blend them!
Part 1

Throughout my whole life, I've had stretch marks. Not the regular ones, the dark ugly ones, that just stare in your face. I was asked multiply times if I was pregnant or had just given birth. To add insult to injury I've had alot of cellulite most at the back of my legs.

At that given period, I knew I wanted a proven solution to my problems. I started researching about what are stretch marks and found out that they were just streaking lines of scars tearing the surface of the top layers (dermis) of the skin. When enough elasticity isn't present in the skin to support.

Stretch marks usually occurs during pregnancy, puberty, weigh gain or muscle gain etc.

The below picture is not me.

I've tried alot of the commercial products but nothing seemed to work. Luckily, I stumbled on a video on youtube about raw shea butter and its benefits. Which sparked a serious curiosity to try this product.
